The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a part-time, term time, Library Digital Assistant to join our friendly team at Central Saint Martins (CSM).
Our busy library is popular with our students and is located over three floors of a historic building overlooking Granary Square near King’s Cross and St Pancras stations.
As a member of the Library Services team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and student-focused library services which support the academic activities of the University.
Working collaboratively, you will participate in both front-line and administrative duties. You will assist users with initial information enquiries in person and support students in the use of specialist software such as Adobe Creative Suite as well general-purpose software and equipment.
In addition to this you will:
- Provide support for self-issue systems, IT and printing.
- Participate in stock-related duties such as retrieving and circulating items.
- Help maintain and care for our equipment and devices as needed.
- Assist with the production of promotional material and instructional guides to encourage students’ independent learning.
- Assist in maintaining good order in accordance with best health and safety practice and security guidelines.
UAL allows all of its employees to work a maximum of 35 hours per week inclusive of all and any contracts within the institution. This position is structured at 9.5 hours a week during our term time dates, the successful candidate will be permitted to work no more than 25.5 hours in any additional positions they wish to undertake at UAL.
Your profile
You will be confident using IT equipment and software, with a sound working knowledge of Adobe Create Suite.
You will have the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team, providing support and assistance.
You will have good interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, in an inclusive manner.
You will possess relevant experience in a library/customer service environment and possess relevant post-16 qualifications, or equivalent.
