The opportunity

If you are a detail-oriented and proactive person who is committed to delivering outstanding customer service, then this role offers the chance to take ownership of key operational processes within a specialist awarding organisation at University of the Arts London (UAL).

UAL Awarding Body is a specialist art, design and creative industries awarding organisation, owned by and based within UAL. We design and award qualifications that empower educators and inspire students to reach their full potential across the creative industries.

As Operations Officer, you will play a central role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of the Awarding Body’s operations throughout the annual cycle. You will administer core systems and processes, providing high-quality service, guidance and correspondence to both internal and external stakeholders on operational processes. Your work will include accurate processing of registrations, results, certification and reports, alongside maintaining qualification, centre and student data within our Learner Management System and External Assessment platforms.

You will also coordinate and manage Contact Point 1, 2 and 3 events and External Assessment activity, including setting up and updating events, allocating contacts, recording and reporting on data and supporting Senior External Moderators and Chief Examiners with operational queries. Working closely with Quality Officers, you will help ensure that all processes remain compliant with regulatory requirements set by Ofqual, CCEA and Qualification Wales.

Your profile

Educated to A Level standard or equivalent, you will bring substantial administrative experience, including data entry, database maintenance, minute-taking and data analysis. You will be confident working independently on both short and medium-term projects, managing your workload effectively while maintaining excellent attention to detail. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint and databases is essential, alongside an understanding of UAL Awarding Body qualifications and a genuine passion for arts and education.
