The opportunity

We are seeking a number of Associate Lecturers to become part of the team delivering the new MA Comedy course at Wimbledon College of Arts, supporting our students in the creation of new comedy writing and performance.

This role will see you utilising effective communication skills for a range of audiences, coupled with excellent organisation, as well as strong collaboration and team working with colleagues and students. You will bring your unique industry experience, knowledge, and inclusive approaches to high-quality and innovative teaching and pedagogy, building excellent relationships with students through this.

Successful candidates will work as part of the MA Comedy team in the delivery and assessment of new units, creating and delivering lectures, seminars, and workshops for postgraduate students, supplying developmental feedback as part of this. You will work closely with the course team to develop and grow the course, plan and deliver teaching, as well as assessing student work.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from people with industry experience in the following:

* comedy writing
* TV production processes
* stand-up comedy
* clowning
* directing comedy
* comedy history and theory

Your profile

The successful candidate will possess the below skills and experience:

ESSENTIAL

* Qualifications or relevant experience in comedy performance, writing and/or production
* Professional experience within the comedy industry
* Experience of comedy teaching/workshop delivery
* An ability to support the development of innovative creative practice within comedy
* Strong communication, collaboration, and team-working skills

DESIRABLE

* Experience of teaching and assessment in higher education
