The opportunity

Are you a highly skilled Print Technician with a year or more of experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing or education environment? Do you thrive under pressure and excel at delivering high-quality results quickly and efficiently? We are looking for a Specialist Print Technician to join our Specialist Digital Print team who can hit the ground running! You must be proficient in operating the Xerox V280 high-end printing equipment (or an equivalent digital press) without the need for training, and possess in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign.

This role demands highly specialist skills to work within the Digital Print technical team; the role will support courses across Design, Screen and Media schools. The role will require 1 years+ experience operating a Xerox V280 Digital Press (or similar) in a customer facing commercial or education environment. The successful candidate will be able to operate the press from day one with little training required. Day-to-day duties will include maintaining printers, logging and printing student work and assisting students on a one-to-one basis, solving specific formatting issues and assisting with creative output. The successful applicant will also be expected to lead student inductions and workshops focusing on image reproduction and design software.

Your profile

You will ideally have gained an Art and Design (or similar) degree level qualification, and a Pg Cert Academic Practice in Art, Design and Communication would be desirable. You will have extensive experience of working with printing equipment and have worked extensively in the reprographics and print industry. The successful applicant will work alongside technicians and academics within the college to ensure students are trained in the safe, innovative and professional use of the College’s technical resources. Above all we are looking for a motivated, creative individual who can add to a growing and increasingly important team at the college. We would expect high levels of technical competence and a dedication to personal development.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Lesley Wilkins, Senior Resourcing Adviser, lcc.staffrecruit@arts.ac.uk
