The opportunity

As a Solutions Architect, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering technology solutions that align with the university’s strategic goals. You’ll work across the Digital & Technology function, collaborating with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure that system designs are robust, scalable, and fully integrated with UAL’s technical landscape.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and validating end-to-end solution designs that meet business requirements and align with our architectural standards. You’ll produce clear, audience-appropriate architecture documentation, support discovery and implementation projects, and contribute to procurement processes by ensuring new systems integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.

You’ll also play an active role in shaping architectural governance, contributing to standards, templates, and the Technical Design Authority, while helping to mature UAL’s architectural practice and ensure the delivery of secure, high-performing digital services.

Your profile

The ideal candidate will have -

    • Proven experience of providing solution architecture across multiple platforms within an enterprise environment and the ability to deliver complex, large-scale solutions with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.
    • Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, ArchiMate).
    • Experience designing solutions for on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
    • Experience in solution integration using various protocols and technologies.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of an organisation, whether non-technical or technical.
