The opportunity
Digital & Technology at University of the Arts London (UAL) is on an exciting journey, transitioning from a ‘classic’ IT approach to a user-centred product approach to technology. We are investing in our people, and the processes enabled by digital, to evolve and transform the student and staff experience at UAL.
The Head of Integration Service is a new senior leadership role within the Architecture and Data team, which plays a critical leadership role in shaping and delivering University of the Arts London’s enterprise integration strategy. This role is responsible for driving an API-first approach to system integration, ensuring that UAL’s digital platforms are seamlessly connected, scalable, and aligned with strategic priorities.
You will lead a team of integration architects and developers, overseeing the design, development, and optimisation of APIs that support business outcomes and enhance user experience. This includes managing the full lifecycle of integration services from strategy and architecture to delivery and operational support.
The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders across Digital & Technology, academic colleges, and external partners to ensure integration solutions are robust, secure, and future-proof. You’ll also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, managing budgets, and ensuring the service evolves in line with emerging technologies and institutional needs.
Ultimately, this role is about enabling UAL to operate as a connected, data-driven organisation where systems talk to each other, services are streamlined, and innovation is powered by integration.
