The opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and professional Security Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our cutting-edge security systems.
As a Security Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for administering access control, CCTV, intruder alarms, and key suiting systems.
You will also play a key part in ensuring that all system faults are swiftly reported and resolved, ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.
Your primary responsibility will be to administer the University’s security systems and ensure smooth operations by addressing faults in the systems promptly and effectively.
You will oversee access permissions for staff, students, contractors, and visitors, as well as issuing ID cards when required.
Your expertise will be crucial in supporting system upgrades and maintaining the university's security technology infrastructure.
Key aspects of the role include -
- Day-to-Day Administration: Providing continuous support for the management and operation of security systems, including CCTV, intruder alarms, key suiting systems, and more.
- Fault Reporting & Resolution: Ensuring that system faults are reported to contractors, resolving issues in a timely manner, and coordinating with maintenance engineers.
- Access Control Management: Acting as the main point of contact for access control inquiries, managing the access control mailbox, and issuing ID cards as needed.
- Process Improvement: Collaborating with the Security Systems Manager to develop and implement improved processes for managing security systems and services.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintaining data and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations, particularly concerning CCTV data protection rules.
- System Inventory & Updates: Managing and updating system inventories, including access control and key suiting systems.
