The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking an experienced Assessment Officer to play a key role supporting the UAL Awarding Body.

UAL Awarding Body is an awarding organisation specialising in qualifications within the performing and creative arts. We design and award creative qualifications that empower and inspire educators to help students reach their potential.

As Senior Assessment Officer, you will be part of the Qualifications and Assessment team, who are responsible for designing and developing qualifications and assessments.

Your responsibilities will include:

•Overseeing the design of valid, robust, and reliable assessments that are fit for purpose through review and quality checks
•Working with internal stakeholders, including the Assessment Design Manager to produce and maintain assessment strategies for new qualifications  
•Supporting the Assessment Design Manager in scoping new approaches to assessments within the creative and performing arts sectors
•Conducting research and internal and external stakeholder discussions and focus groups to inform new assessment approaches
•Ensuring the quality of assessment materials and other documentation

About you

To succeed in this role, you must have good project management skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects and prioritise your own time. You will have excellent planning and organisation skills and will pride yourself on delivering high-quality work with attention to detail in document production.  

Verbal and written skills are paramount, alongside the ability to work as part of a team made up of multiple stakeholders across different professional levels.  

You will also have good knowledge of assessment design principles and experience of developing or maintaining assessment materials and additional resources.
