The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled editor with an interest in creative education and excellent digital production skills to further their editorial career within a world-leading institution.

As a Junior Content Editor, you will play a key role in the creation of high-quality, consistent and accessible learning experiences available on UAL Online.

UAL Online is an exciting new division which has been established to enable access to the University’s world leading creative arts education to audiences around the globe. We plan to launch with a suite of postgraduate degree courses in the 2025-26 academic year.

You will join our expanding UAL Online Production team, where you will undertake a range of editorial tasks to support the development of learning content. This will involve copyediting and proofreading learning materials, ensuring the consistent layout of content and carrying out quality assurance and EDI tasks to make learning content accessible.

You will ensure that learning materials are produced in accordance with agreed UAL style guides, policy and regulations, as well as carry out a range of copyright permissions tasks, investigating and clearing rights and permissions for third-party content and checking licences.

About you

Educated to degree level, you will need strong general digital production skills with the ability to generate documentation and resources to an agreed style, as well as possess experience of maintaining and supporting quality processes in Higher Education.

You will be proficient in the use of the MS Office 365 suite and will demonstrate a good understanding of accessibility guidelines and legislation and of copyright processes and licenses.
