The opportunity
UAL Awarding Body are recruiting for the post of Chief Examiner for Music Performance and Production. To join us, you’ll need a proven track record working in the Further Education sector.
Working closely with the Associate Dean of Academic Standards and team of Chief Examiners, you will provide expert advice, subject knowledge and academic input to the design, development, delivery and assessment of UAL Awarding Body qualifications in all aspects of music performance and production including, but not limited to, qualifications at Level 1, 2, 3 and L4.
About you
An expert in your field you will have a degree in music or an equivalent professional qualification in the music sector and you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of UAL Awarding Body qualifications, educational frameworks and the requirements of educational regulatory bodies such as Ofqual and CCEA, and the Department for Education.
The ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively, setting standards particularly relating to assessment, quality assurance, external verification and/or external moderation is essential.
This role does require the post-holder to have a DBS check in place.
In addition, you will keep abreast of contemporary developments in the music industry through your network of professional contacts and a commitment to continuing professional development. Recent music industry experience would be advantageous and experience of leading on, or contributing to, the design and development of regulated qualifications is desirable.
