The opportunity
Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to lead transformative change? We are seeking a skilled programme manager to guide our ambitious net zero and social purpose initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence institutional change and positively impact our community and the environment.
As the Head of Net Zero and Social Purpose Programme, you will play a pivotal role in embedding our net zero and social purpose goals across the University. You will lead a cross-institutional team, working closely with the Social Purpose Lab and other departments, to drive a comprehensive strategy that integrates environmental sustainability with social justice. Your expertise in programme and project management, along with your background in change management and behaviour change theory, will be essential in fostering a culture of transformative change.
About you
We seek a forward-thinking leader with a high level of understanding of how higher education and other sectors implement net zero and social purpose initiatives. You should have advanced systems thinking skills and experience managing complex programmes and projects. Your ability to communicate technical or specialist ideas persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior managers and committees, is crucial. You should be adept at motivating teams, managing resources effectively, and fostering cross-team collaboration while promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. A track record of using initiative and independence over a broad area of activity is essential, as is a proactive approach to complex problem-solving.
If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Becky Hatch, Resourcing Adviser via email at Socialpurposestaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk.
