The opportunity

If you offer considerable operations, venue management and events experience, this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role at The Hub – Camberwell College of Arts.

The Hub is Camberwell College of Arts’ venue for the community in the heart of Peckham. The Hub is a space where local businesses and the community come together to develop creative business ideas and explore emerging technologies.

You will oversee the venue’s operations and events programme, aimed at engaging with the local community, supporting UAL graduates and staff, diversifying our audience, and enhancing the college’s profile.

You will ensure the effective management of resources and the smooth operation of all activities. This will include scoping and planning, budget management, operational oversight of events, marketing and communications, relationship management etc.

This is a fixed term contract until September 2026.

The working hours are 14 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. There is flexibility on how the 14 hours per week are worked. Ideally this will be 3.5 hours over 4 days per week. You would need to commit to the same working pattern per week.

About you

You will need extensive work experience in venue, studio or building management, in addition to experience of managing dynamic high-profile events with multiple stakeholders.

Experience of working across multiple strands of work, including short-term tasks and medium-term project work is also essential.

You will also need excellent IT skills (Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and virtual learning environments such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom) in addition to extensive administration experience, including purchase ordering and sales ledgers.

Experience of leading small, agile teams in a fast-paced environment is equally important.

Should you have any questions about the role, please contact Kelly Palmer, Head of Graduate Futures / k.v.palmer@arts.ac.uk.
