The opportunity
Do you possess knowledge and experience of digital making, production and fabrication? We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated technician to provide effective student support in 3D digital fabrication at London College of Fashion (LCF).
In this exciting role, you will support student learning via informal/formal training and instruction. Your professional expertise, guidance and advice will develop student proficiency with highly specialist techniques, production methods and technology. This will include delivering feedback to students through formative assessments, offering critical input to student concepts in relation to course learning outcomes.
In addition to this, you will be responsible for the daily running of the digital fabrication lab spaces and associated areas within the College, including the use and booking of specialist facilities within and without timetabled teaching sessions. You will also undertake planned maintenance and repairs, perform routine housekeeping activities and keep maintenance logs up to date.
You will also contribute to the planning and development of the digital fabrication area, as well as the identification of learning outcomes, including curriculum development, research, and commercial activities.
Please be aware the role will require regular evening work.

About you
Educated to degree level in 3D digital making or with the equivalent relevant experience, you will exhibit knowledge and experience of specialist digital making, CNC milling and cutting and other 3D production techniques, including the use of associated digital technologies and software.
You will possess experience within a similar Higher Education role, along with experience of teaching and/or demonstrating equipment and techniques relating to 3D.
You will also demonstrate knowledge of making specific to digital production, multi-disciplinary fabrication and digital plant environments, along with associated technical skills and a broad understanding of making in mixed materials.
Experience of producing induction/training material is also essential.
