The opportunity

We are looking for a Technical manager to join our Technical Management Team at London College of Communications. We have a wide range of technical workshops including Printmaking, Book arts, Letterpress, Print & Finishing, Digital Print, Sound, Digital Arts, Film & TV Studios, Journalism, Coms & Media, Photography, Emerging Technology Hub and an expanding 3D Workshop. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the daily operations of a selection of these technical teams and technical workshops, dependent on your skills and experience. Working closely with the Head of Technical Resources, you will offer them strategic leadership and operational management to enhance student experiences, improve teaching quality and elevate the impact of knowledge exchange initiatives.

London College of Communications is currently embarking on an exciting and ambitious project, to build a new building in Elephant & Castle. You will have the opportunity to feed into this project and help design and deliver brand-new, purpose-built facilities that will support and help shape the future of education in communications.

About you

You are a dynamic leader with a proven record of nurturing technical teams and developing technical spaces, ideally within educational sector. You lead with empathy, encourage professional growth and actively support diversity, equity, and inclusion. You are knowledgeable about Health & Safety compliance and dedicated to adhering to regulatory standards. You are passionate about supporting student learning, improving the student experience and developing technical spaces. You keep up to date with sector trends and enjoy researching technological advances to ensure the technical spaces you manage remain at the cutting edge of the creative education.
