The opportunity

We are looking for an established, industry-informed academic to join the dynamic and diverse Fashion Media Programme as a Lecturer in Fashion Media & Digital Innovation. The role includes responsibility for actively contributing to working relationships with colleagues and projects across the Fashion Media programme and School of Media and Communication. As a Lecturer on the programme, you will be responsible for undertaking research applicable to the several programme disciplines, developing opportunities for working with industry and developing the curriculum to be relevant and topical.

Relevant experience in the following areas is desirable:

  • Teaching and assessment in Fashion Media and Digital Innovation or associated subjects in a higher education environment at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Innovative and reflexive approach to teaching, and the consideration of equality, diversity, and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and assessment.
  • Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of Fashion Media and Digital Innovation endeavours and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College, and University.
  • Familiarity with debates and research relating to the HE Sector such as decolonising the curriculum and closing awarding gaps.

About you

The Fashion Media programme at LCF is well-established and highly regarded, so you will have substantial experience that could lead and expand its forward-thinking vision.

As a critical practitioner or researcher, you will be able to mentor students through the shifting political and cultural context of today. You will have cultivated connections between fashion and other creative sectors, established partnerships with relevant communities, and used culture to inspire creative tasks.

The programme has a strong emphasis on research and knowledge exchange, so you will be able to establish new and leverage extensive industry connections and networks to provide significant opportunities in the curriculum, which is especially important given LCF’s recent move to Stratford and East Bank in 2023. Drawing on your expertise, you will ensure that the Fashion Media programme continues to innovate in teaching, learning support, and assessment.
